Experimenting with some free artistic Apps today. The first two photos have been altered using DotMatrix. There are lots of designs that you can use and the colours etc can be changed. The third photo was treated with photo sketch, another free App. The last photo uses the App Photobricks. All of these Apps are free. I also used toon camera for iPad in a recent EdublogsClub post, my story.
This story relates the connection between my learning journey and David Thornburg’s primordial metaphors of cave, campfire, waterhole and life. I used toon camera and creative book builder to create the original book. To share on this blog I had to change it to a PDF.
As part of a unit on speaking and listening I have been having great fun using telligami to explore tone. Students have been creating their gamis to demonstrate their ability to use different tones as well as to identify the tone used by others. We have been publishing the gami links on our Edmodo page.
Tanya and Danielle from Prepare2Learn introduced a number of online tools that can be used to make learning visible. One of the tools introduced was Story Bird. This is my first attempt. The books created can be submitted online to gain feedback. There are also many other stories to read and comment on.
Heidi Hayes Jacobs…I think this is a great video as it really does show practical and manageable ways of using technology to improve learning for our students. It also shows how outdated schools and teachers can be.
I like what this article has to say. It really gives a reason for blogging. It emphasises the importance of being creative and really gives you permission to have a go. To some extent it was talking about me. Whilst I have improved, I did tend to sit around waiting for the thunderbolt before I put anything up on the blog or twitter. No I know if I want to hone my creative skills, I need to do so every day. A new challenge, but at least it got me here today.
